Astek was founded in 1997 by the present directors Sydney Baker and Craig Baker. With a strong passion for construction and determination to succeed, the company holds an excellent track-record in delivering projects on time and on budget, and has sustained its profitable growth over the past 25 years. Astek has thrived and developed and now employs in excess of 150 permanent staff.
Astek prides itself in its expertise and capability to carry out projects on a variety of scales.
As a business unit Astek has both the financial strength and stability which are critical to the viability of major projects.
Astek is committed to putting its Clients first and to promote long-term relationships with every client we encounter by delivering a quality product, on time and within budget.
In support of local socio-economic upliftment, additional human resources at an annual average in excess of 400 part time staff are appointed and sourced from the local communities within which projects are located.
Astek embraces the principles of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment and is proud to be a Level Three Contributor. Our procurement policy will ensure that, where possible, materials and equipment will be obtained from BBBEE’s or SMME’s. We award subcontracts where possible to SMME’s. Our ethos is to change lives and empower people through continuous staff training and upliftment.
